Plaintiff Joseph Hopkins began working for defendant Electronic Data Systems, Inc. ("EDS") as a Purchasing Agent in 1985. He was promoted to a management position after approximately six months, and just a year later was promoted to a higher-level management position. Hopkins also worked for EDS as a specialist in marketing and business planning.
